I’ve been using this product for years, and it’s consistently excellent. With the frequent special offers, it’s hands down the best value for money. The flavors are fantastic, and the nutritional profile is spot-on. It’s by far the most cost-effective and convenient way to meet your protein needs.
I rated mixability a 4 because while it blends well, it mixes even better with a blender or mixer ball. The effectiveness is great, but I didn’t give it a full 5 stars as results can vary based on your diet and training. For me, it’s been effective in maintaining muscle mass and aiding recovery.
Here’s a rundown of the flavors I’ve tried:
- Chocolate Smooth: A standard, decent chocolate flavor. Better with milk than water.
- Chocolate Brownie: A richer, tastier version of Chocolate Smooth. Really good.
- Banoffee: A bit odd—sickly banana and toffee flavor. It doesn’t live up to the banoffee pie hype.
- Apple Crumble and Custard: Not bad, but not amazing. Tastes like apple and a sweet, milky flavor. Good in small quantities.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter: Nice idea, but it tastes mostly like Chocolate Smooth with an odd aftertaste.
- Chocolate Coconut: Not my favorite. Has an artificial coconut aftertaste, though some people like it.
- Cinnamon Danish: One of my current favorites. Sweet, cinnamon flavor with a hint of pastry—really good.
- Golden Syrup: Incredible if you love golden syrup. Very sweet, so it’s best used in moderation or in recipes like pancakes.
- Maple Syrup: True to maple syrup but a bit overpowering. Better cooked into things.
- Lemon Cheesecake: Quite artificial and not very cheesecake-like, but not a disaster. Still undecided on this one.
- Salted Caramel: Delicious, though more sweet than salty. You can add more salt if desired.
- Rocky Road: By far the worst. An unpleasant mix of almost okay chocolate and a sickly, artificial fruit flavor.
- Cookies and Cream: Tastes like vanilla—nice, but nothing exceptional.
- White Chocolate: Similar to Cookies and Cream—sweet, creamy, and generic.
- Sticky Toffee Pudding: Strong toffee flavor. Good if you love toffee, but not worth it if you prefer other flavors.
- Banana: My first flavor, and I found it a bit boring and sweet. Fruit flavors tend to be quite artificial.
Overall, try samples to find your favorites. I recommend Chocolate Brownie, Golden Syrup, Salted Caramel, and Cinnamon Danish as the top picks, but personal taste will play a big role. Enjoy!
Goes Well With: These flavors are great with milk, and almost as good with water. I also recommend using them in cooking—protein pancakes and baked goods are excellent options. Don’t just drink your calories; try making something with substance!
